Bard

The Monk class is one with both great strengths and weaknesses. A specialist form of melee, the Monk focuses completely on its offensive abilities, primarily using only ones hands and feet to wound the enemy. Monks can dish out more direct melee damage than any other class - period.

Beastlord

The Beastlord is a newer class addition to the World of Norrath & Luclin.  It is a combination of the  Shaman & Monk class that is highly dependent on its unique pet spells.  They are limited to wearing Leather Armor, which makes them more of a light offensive class than a tank.

Berserker

The Berserker class is one with both great strengths and weaknesses. A specialist form of melee, the Berserker is primarily a medium armored, high damage dealer. While they posses a short range of unique skills achieved by throwing axes they can summon and combat abilities, they are predominantly right in the middle of the melee action.

Cleric

The Cleric is one of the most fundamental classes in EverQuest. Looked at under the pain light of reality, Clerics keep people alive. But there is a lot more to this class than just healing powers.

Druid

Druids are perhaps the best soloing class in the game.  They have a number of elements which makes them very efficient at killing mobs without putting themselves at excessive risk.

Enchanter

The enchanter class is perhaps one of the most difficult classes to play in Everquest. There are a number of reasons for this. The enchanter is a defensive class. Although they can be large damage dealers via charming, they cannot do sustained direct damage via spells or DoT's in many circumstances. Soloing, whilst possible, is generally quite slow and as such they do not raise levels as quickly as some other classes as their experience is almost always through that of a group.

Magician

The Magician class is one of the more interesting pure casters in EverQuest. The primary focus of a Magician is as a pet class. Magicians have the largest variety of pets in the game. However, even though they have both powerful pets and powerful direct damage and area spells, the Magician is by no means an easy class to play.

Monk

The Monk class is one with both great strengths and weaknesses. A specialist form of melee, the Monk focuses completely on its offensive abilities, primarily using only ones hands and feet to wound the enemy. Monks can dish out more direct melee damage than any other class - period.

Necromancer

The Necromancer is one of the most powerful classes in EverQuest. They are rivaled only by druids in ability to solo, and in a group have a number of features which make them a very friendly addition.

Paladin

Paladins are a hybrid between a Warrior and Cleric. They are based upon the image of a holy warrior who is willing to help anyone in any way they can, while destroying the minions of the underworld.

Ranger

The ranger is a hybrid class combining the combat skills of the Warrior, with the magical abilities of a Druid.

Rogue

Rogues are the more shady class in the world of Norrath.  They have the skills necessary for survival in dangerous territory and the ability to pack a mean punch into whatever crosses their path.  But make no mistake; Rogues are an offensive class, not defensive.  If you force a rogue to tank for too long they will die, and die fast.

Shadow Knight

Shadow Knights are a hybrid class tank; they take the shape of a cross between a Warrior and Necromancer, having the second highest tanking ability in game after warriors, and having some fairly useful spells to aid them in battle. The concept of the Shadow Knight is the dark warrior at the forefront of the battle fighting savagely and using well-placed spells to weaken the enemy and empower himself.

Shaman

The Shaman is one of the most underrated classes in Norrath. They are very well rounded offering powerful offense damage, defense, and buffs for almost every statistic.

Warrior

The warrior is the definition of the tank class in EverQuest. They have high hit points, a high armor class, and deliver somewhat impressive damage with their weapons. They can dual wield, single wield, bash, slam, kick, and taunt. They can parry, riposte, double attack, disarm and dodge. They are the only class which has almost every combat skill open to them for training, and receive them at lower levels than all classes but monks.

Wizard

The wizard class is said to be the master of damage. This is a phrase which should be carefully understood. Wizards are the masters of direct damage. They have the widest variety of direct damage spells available to them, some of which can hit for very large amounts. However, they are not the most damaging class overall despite this power. In longer fights other classes will often out damage the wizard, but a good wizard can make a fight a lot faster.
